RVmigo asks every host and renter to complete a one-time identity check before they list or book. Part of that check compares a scan of your face to the photo on your ID. This page explains what that means, who handles it, and how long it is kept.
A photo of your government-issued ID, a live capture of your face, and the facial geometry derived from that capture in order to compare the two. Nothing about your face is collected unless you start an identity check yourself and agree to the notice first.
For one purpose only: to confirm the ID you presented belongs to you. RVmigo does not use it for advertising, does not sell it, does not share it with hosts or renters, and does not use it to identify you anywhere else on the marketplace.
An identity-verification partner performs the capture and the comparison on our behalf, under a written agreement limiting them to that purpose. They process and store the data on servers in the European Union, so completing a check involves an international transfer of your information.
Only the outcome — whether the check passed, the type of document, its expiry date, and a reference number. The face scan, the capture video, images of your document and your document number are not kept by RVmigo: our systems read the result and discard everything else. The reference number lets us point law enforcement at our partner's records if we are lawfully required to.
Our partner retains the biometric data for up to 12 months from the date of your check, after which it is permanently deleted from their systems. If you ask us to delete it sooner, we will pass that request to our partner. The outcome record RVmigo keeps contains no biometric data and is retained as part of your account history.
The identity check is voluntary, though hosts cannot publish a listing and renters cannot send booking requests without one. You can ask us to delete your biometric data at any time, and we will pass that request to our partner. Ask us and we will tell you what is on file for you.
Send us a note through the feedback form and we will get back to you. Feedback
